3 things a teacher 🍎 appreciates!

🍎 Donations: These can be monetary💰 or school supply 📚✂️✏️ donations. Teachers often spend their own money on these things so having some help in this area would be much appreciated!

🍎Support: Having parents support can make a world of a difference for a teacher. Support can be shown in many ways. A significant way is being on one accord with the teacher. Helping with homework or following up about your child’s behavior is great way to know how to best support a teacher.

⭐️If a child is aware that their parents and teachers work together they are more likely to respect and acknowledge both.

🍎 Gift cards or other gifts: As mentioned before teachers usually spend a portion of their salaries on supplies. Gift cards to different places can help teachers focus on some much needed self-care. Things like Amazon/Starbucks gift cards are a considerable choice. More personal choices include a quality water bottle, personalized stationary or a sentimental thank you card. They all go a long way.

Being away from your child is hard and you may fee

Being away from your child is hard and you may feel disconnected. That is normal, but there are some ways to build that connection. Start with the the:

✨15 minute trick✨

The trick goes as follow:

✨ 15 minutes of interacting/connecting with your child.

✨ An activity you can do TOGETHER (reading, building, catch, snuggles, etc.)

✨ No interruptions from phone or TV

✨ Try to work this into your everyday after school routine

DURING: Give your child a choice of what is available to play together. That way you don’t have to say no to an activity or worry about it being too long.

⭐️ Try this ⭐️ “I missed you so much while you were at daycare. Would you like to play catch together or read a book before dinner?”

This time ⏰ is for your child to be heard without any rush. It also gives you some time to decompress from the day. Enjoy some snuggles 🫂 and laughter 🤭 before continuing your responsibilities (because as a parent they never stop)!

ENDING: When it is nearing the end of your playtime together give them a warning ⚠️. If it is an abrupt ending it may cause some big emotions.

⭐️Try this ⭐️ “This is our last book before I start cooking dinner. You are welcome to help or you can stay and play”
